Hi all. I'm an admin on a forum. But the original admin who made the forum is now on vacation and now when someone wants to reply this error occurs:

Could not connect to smtp host : :

DEBUG MODE

Line : 112
File : smtp.php

Ideas?

Somethings wrong with the email software on the server. A quick fix may be to disable email notifications. A better fix requires someone with access to the server, not just the forum software.

I did not want you thinking us Mods were ignorning you. Currently, Ziroc and Memnoch are the only ones qualified as "Administration", and the rest of us have no idea how to answer your question unless it is something we know outside our employment here.

andrewas sounds smart enough to be right on his post.

I think he's saying that IW mods would not have the experience necessary to answer your question, because they don't deal with the admin side of things...

I admin another place and have a little experience. Thing is, it's dependent on your particular forum software, access and setup and andrewas has a good point, it does sound like server level issues. Might need to check with the software people and the server. If changes were made to the server (such as security) it could affect the ability to post or email notifications.

I'd suggest checking with the server people first.
