So in XP and using Firefox 1.5.0.4 which works great expect for it doesn't like the Ironworks website. Constant freezes when loading pages but the browser still responds, i.e. I can surf to another web site with no problems and continue but it won't load any more IW pages until a browser restart. It seems to only happen if I've left the browser on a specfic page for any length of time, probably about 30 seconds or so but it doesn't matter what page as long as it's IW.

IE7 works fine.

Kinda weird, but it can't just be me?

I've been using Firefox for almost a year now and haven't had any problems with IW.

While sometimes with IE it would refuse to load IW pages after a certain time and for a certain time, I've never had that with Firefox. If an IW page does take longish to load I just click on the link again and it loads without a problem.

I switched from IE to Firefox and it was a blessing. IE sucks, Firefox doesn't. Firefox works fine on IW for me.

Ziroc was recently ranting about how much he was paying for hosting, and how crappy the bandwidth draw was to the price to usage ratio.

Running Mozilla/5.0 Linux i686 Ubuntu/Dapper Firefox "Swiftfox" 1.5.0.4 native, and on occasion do have 'stalls' here, but have never experienced a freeze, (only in no connection movement).

Cannot compare to IE 7, never touched it.

I get it in Opera sometimes, I believe my record is about 13 hours of "waiting for connection" when I left it on overnight after clicking an Ironworks link.

It does happen in IE6 at work for me, although perhaps not quite as often as in Opera. I've always put it down to either quirky forum software or simply Z's server only being able to deal with so many connections at once and not queing effectively.

Does anyone know how much bandwidth IW consumes?

...couldn't pay me to go back to IE. I have bit of problems with the forum. Occasionally when I hit the "add reply" button it takes a while, but I just hit stop and do it again.

To quote the immortal words of Lord: IE sucks!

This problem is a very longstanding one. I remember Charlie complaining about this two years or more ago. Until recently I never had the problem but the last 6 months it has got worse. It has nothing to do with firefox.

I do wonder if many people dont post here anymore because of this problem?
