I think I am about to be very mad as a monitor I just bought a few months back is not acting right. A Dell 771p 19 inch. It looks great as long as it is dark lines/graphics on a light background. When a picture with light lines/graphics on a dark background is there the contrast is TERRIBLE! The vertical potions of the text actually disappear! The higher I set the color resolution, the worse it gets. Games like BG aren't bad because they have in game contrast sliders. Cut scenes are nearly invisible. Anyone had a problem like this with a monitor? Is it worth fixing? I guess I could try to get a replacement from the place I bought it, but shipping both ways will be almost as much as the monitor costs! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

If it's still under warrantee try taking it back. I have a Siemens Nixdorf 21" monitor and when I hook it up on my laptop it does the exact same thing when I set the resolution to 1024x768 or higher. At 800x600 it is perfect. Hooking it up to a desktop though it works great at all resolutions so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the graphics the computer actually brings out. Unless you have more than one computer though and it works okay on the other, I suggest you get it replaced

If by any chance you have another moniter try hooking that up to your computer and seeing if the same problems occure, if they don't its the moniter if. ON the other hand if they do occure again it might be your graphics card or one of your windows settings that is doing it.

Last week I had my Dell 22" Flat CRT go out on me. It was still under warranty. It cost me $40 to ship it there and they ship it back for free. It's worth it if you ask me.
