Welcome to the board, Dirk #12. May you find this game to be among the very best.

What you have just encountered is what every newcomer to this game encounters and what kept me grumbling for weeks.

On the wall to your left when you enter the crypt there is a lever. It is situated right in the middle of the wall and very hard to spot at first. Flip it and you will proceed. There will be many more levers later on.

Welcome to the boards, Dirk #12. May you find life in the Gael Serran pleasing and profitable.

As bsftcs has pointed out, you have found the most common first question people have in the game. Once you've found the first lever, it becomes much easier in future dungeons. It's that first step that's a doozy...

I think a more detailed explanation is needed because it it really is a common problem of all W&W players

The lever is a trigger that loads the dungeon. When you click it, the dungeon will be loaded and you will be placed into it. Look around immediately after being placed in the dungeon: You will see another lever, which will take you out of the dungeon. The mechanism is the same: click it, and the exterior will be loaded and you will be placed into it.
All dungeons in W&W are entered/leaved this way. Never expect that you will be able to enter some dungeon by clicking a door or something like that. Always search a lever. And every time you will need to leave the dungeon, search the lever (inside the dungeon) as well.

Welcome to the board Dirk #12!!!

If I had a dollar for every player that got stuck on that crypt door ....
Finding that first lever is much harder than any of the other levers in the whole game - you learn to look for them.
Glad to hear that you've gotten beyond that now. Do keep us posted on how your game is going!
