Ever since I read The Hobbit and all through out fantasy, folklore and D&D I've liked the dwarves. Gimli is one of my favorite characters in LOTR. I will be watching for dwarves and Gimli and I hope that he gets the respect he deserves. The dwarves just have such a rich culture with their lust for precious metals and their intricate craftsmanship, their love for good ale and their axes and battle skills. I can't wait to see the Mines of Moria, I'm sure that it will be spectacular. I just wanted to know if anyone else likes dwarves or elves or has a favorite character from LOTR.

I have to agree 100 percent!!! One of my first fantasy series was the Cleric Quintet, and I loved the dwarf brothers(i forget there names, it was a long time ago). And from then on I always enjoy reading about the dwafs.

My favorite is Flint FireForge. Dwarfs ROCK!!

Who could resist a dwarven sense of humor?!? And there aren't many others I'd rather have by my side in a fight........

Just don't get in a drinking contest with a dwarf!

(And this from a half-elf )
