Okay, here we go. Party of six: Braennor (human Paladin, shield and sword type), Dradan (dwarf Fighter, might have been using a two handed axe back then but I prefer to keep them alive, high constitution, there to take damage and pass round healing potions), Nulah the Devout( human Cleric, general healing, blesses, also uses a shield, sling and mace), Shareela(human Magic User, concentrated on offensive magic until high level encounters required the odd dispell), Scarrel(human Ranger, uses spears and bows, hates Umber Hulks), Endimar Lightfinger( Half Elf Fighter/Thief, bowman and trap dissarmer).

Befor I entered the room I saw what looked like a big door so I threw up an all out party bless and other protective magics (Braennors protection from evil etc) and then entered. I then did the lightning fast finger to space bar maneouver that saves parties lives. It relies on my finger moving to the space bar to order combat instructions before they enemies get to initate dialogue and then stomp all over me with their preset orders. Using this to full effect I managed to get an arrow headed off towards one of the serpent priests and a set of magic missiles headed towards the demon girl before she spoke and changed form. For those of you who know the AD&D system well demons take full effect from magic missiles and reduced damage from other things but more importantly magic missiles beat most other casting times and assure relative party safety from hostile magic. As soon as the conversation was over the missiles struck, Scarrel and Endimar redirected their fire to the beast, (since arrows often disrupt spell fire) and the rest of the party waited for her to arrive. As soon as she was near enough, Shareela threw a few more magic missiles and an area effect spell into the serpent priests (by not advancing I only had to face one or two of them at a time), Braennor, Dradan and Nulah laid into the vile creature in close combat and after a while Scarrel and Endimar got to start to pick off the priests. When the demon fell, Braennor and Dradan set to charging at the row of serpent priests from oposite ends whilst Nulah followed up behind them healing as she went. This was a slow process because Endimar ran ahead dealing with the traps. Of course there was all sorts of domination spells going off so I used characters with high AC's and HP's to attract controlled characters by punching them (for non lethal damage). GTG but I've got a screenshot somewhere and I'll see if I can remember anything else.

Thanks Balgin, what did you do about the Elite Yun-ti archers, as they do most of the damage, also what about the stuff that gets summoned - mummies + skeletons etc.

Errm summoned? Sorry mate, I specialise in beating enemy casting times with magic missiles. As a result of this I never actually got to see what spells she had. Concerning the archers,I knew that there where monsters around the edge but forgot exactly what type. I sttod right inside the doorway so as not to alert them to my presence. When the big snake was defeated and banished I rounded them up.

I'd be wary about casting spells at enemies before entering dialogue with Yuxonemai. If she enters into dialogue with anyone during a someone's spell casting, the spell will likely be broken.
I had a 4 player party. Ranger/cleric, cleric/mage Fighter(8lev thief/8lev fighter) and a Bard.
I immediately fled Yuxonemai's chamber and ran west to the western corridor just outside her chambers. I ran to the last room with all my weakest characters. The Ranger/Cleric cast "Entangle" in the corridor to the last room while the bard cast "Web" in the same spot. Between those two spells, most of the archers and such were held. The Cleric/mage threw 2 or 3 fireballs into the mess and that took care of the archers. Lasty, to kill the Boss.
I did this by having the ranger/cleric cast "call upon holy might". The ceric/mage hasted him while the bard cast "spirit armor" on him. Then sent the tank in with a +3 mace and went to town. It was bloody, and my cleric/mage had to stand behind the ranger/cleric casting heal spells during the fight; but eventually she died.
Summoned goons are only worth fodder and to lure enemies away in this battle.

haste and recitation spells and strength potions. all characters but one on ranged weapons (magical ammo). the one not on ranged is your beef, armed with his best weapon (hopefully +3 or better)and potions of x-healing. concentrate everything on her. she should not have the chance to cast spells and should die quickly. the rest is a piece of cake...remember, archers don't arch when there's a sword in thier face

i kept my party in the hall. after casting all the protective magics and drinking some potions i sent my well armored fighter ahead into the room for the initial encounter. i then lured her into the hall and her archers did not follow. i hacked, slashed and healed until she was slain. it took me a half dozen times to finisher her off without one of my party dying. now you can dispatch the remaining nasties at your leisure.-Xavier

Zenith is obvously a CHEATER ... cuz there are no +3 missles you can use against Yuxonemai. Only a few +3 meele weapons can be found up to that point. Of course, if you import some arrows or piercing.....
i think strength and haste and heal potions are cool in this fight

With respect to Leafy, I mean that the magic missiles where already in the air between me and her before she got to start speaking (it involves catching enemies just on the edge of the fog of war and pressing space before you're too close to get away with it). I then made sure that she spoke to a character who wasn't casting a spell (by making the Paladin and the dwarf advance slightly before the missiles landed). My entire party was still about seventh level.

Excuse me, Leafy, but check your eyes before calling people names. I never mentioned +3 missle weapons, only magical missles (and +1 arrows count as magical missiles) I stated that HOPEFULLY you can arm your fighter with a +3 or better melee weapon since you do find a couple by then.
