OK, so I've ALMOST decided on party comp. One more question, can a thief or fighter dual to a specilist mage or only the generic mage?

They can dual to specialist.
Anyway, you know the requisites to dual classing no ?? 15 or more in your first class main attributes and 17 or more in your dualing into class attributes. ------------------  "Let my spells do the dirty work" Ertai, High Sorceror of the Holy Flame

you can dual into a specialist mage? i swore it was not possible. (is was possible in BG though)
you CAN, however, be a specialist mage who duals into something else |

Damn, maybe i mistaked. Im sure that in Bg1 you can, but now im not sure if it can be done in IWD. iŽll have to try.

Actually, you can dual class into a Specialty Mage.
My main mage before the Exansion was a Dual-Classed Fighter/Necromancer |

In both BG1 and IDW/HOW you can dual to specialist mage.
