I'm thinking (already) about what I want to do for my second HoF-from-scratch party.

Suggestions? For a challenge, and to avoid maxing out characters before TotL, I'd like to avoid single classes - no paladins and no bards - and I want every character to be a spellcaster (eventually).

Here's what I'm thinking of so far. Comments, suggestions, tweaks, and debates are all very welcome.

1) R/C multi - I just love these. Offensive, versatile, a solid character for any party. Will focus on defensive and melee magics. Might use a shield in the early-mid going.
2) F/M multi - with the amount of mages in the party, this one should be able to specialize a bit in a frontline role. PP likely in axe, longsword, dagger, and flail.
3) F/M/T multi - long range specialist with thief skills. Might be a very late addition to the front line or a decoy with punch.
4) C/M multi - main healer, will be either primary or secondary arcane bomber. Could be neutral alignment so as to get some of the more offense-oriented clerical spells, but would lose the Shield of Lathander spells. Comments?
5) F/D multi - can't turn one of these down.
6) F/D dual - just to see how dual vs multi really stacks up. It would be a high-level dual, probably at fighter lvl 13 or 15. PP stacked in scimitars and slings, naturally. Could tank in the beginning as a pure fighter, and move to the back when it duals, of course. Although, it might be better to get the slings up to 4 PP first and use this character as a full-on slinger, then go for the 5 PP in scimitar.

Compared to my ongoing party, I'd be giving up: a top-of-the-line tank, the bard's support functions, and some of the weapons versatility (especially with ranged weapons). I'd gain: another cleric, another druid, and another arcane caster, allowing for more specialization of caster roles.

2 druids Rocks! Maybe you play a F/C/M instead of a C/M.

The F/M/C instead of a C/M is an interesting idea. I'd be a little worried about excessive XP splitting between classes, particularly for a character with major healing duties. Anybody care to discuss the detailed positives and negatives of having two triple-classes in the party? I rarely have even one.

A F/M/C would still be limited by the cleric's weapon restrictions. The question I have to ask myself is, do I need 6 warrior classes?

For your dual, don't forget to make him Tru Neutral! I've known many people who made that mistake... no dualing for them

I love the two druid idea though... I like druids to stick to summoning mostly, though that's just my personal bias. Do whatever you see fit

I wouldn't really take a F/M/C mostly because it, coupled with the other multiclasses, plus the F/M/T would really slow down your party for a time.

Good Hunting!
