First of all, there are some spoilers to this topic, but if you finished Durlag's tower and related quests, you can read on. Ofcourse, if you have no problems with the forementioned two, feel free to click your 'back' button.

Being a cheesy player as I am, I found real easy solutions to Demon knight and Aec Letec battles. Here they are.

Demon knight battle:
As you know, when you enter the room and the demon is done speaking it will automatically start casting Dispel, then Fireball and finally PW:Stun. After that it will go melee. So any protections you have cast on your party will be dispelled and that Fireball is going to do some serious damage. Ofcourse, you can leave the room after he's done casting spells, then heal and protect yourself w/ spells and go for it, but you can do it without leaving the room at all. First thing you have to do is scatter your party members along the northwestern edge of the room. Be careful that he doesn't see you. Next, choose any party member and equip it with Boots of Speed (you should have found some in Cloakwood Mines area). Go down the stairs until you see the knight. After the dialogue (it doesn't matter what you say) he begins his cating. Now move the hastened party member out of Demonknight's field of view. If you were quick enough, he will finish casting the spell, but it will never hit you (this is not so in BG2). Then go for the knight. Something in it's script stops him from casting the remaining two spells if you weren't hit with that Dispel. Bless, Haste, Defensive Harmony, it's your choice. You can figure it out from here.

Aec Letec battle:
Ignoring all that ruckus outside of the building and on the first floor of it, I'll concentrate on the battle in the basement. You probably know that Aec Letec is resurrected from one of the cultists when it's killed. And he will keep respawning until there are no more cultists there. With 7 of them, this is not an easy battle. You do have some of those Missile necklasses, do you? Or at least a wand of fire or two? Then don't go down yet. Memorize the following spells: 3-4x Improved Invisibility, 1-2x Haste and some Fireballs if you're not into Dynaheir. Equip those necklasses on your thief and any other party member. Don't forget to turn the AI off. Now have your thief hide in shadows and cast Imp.Inv. on your mage and the other member with the necklass. Move all of them down there and go the eastern part of the room. The head cultist won't start the conversation as she doesn't see any of you so Aec is not summoned yet. Now start casting random fireballs to kill all the cultists standing around, but be careful not to kill the head one and be careful that she doesn't see you. Use magic missiles and Chromatic orbs to finish those two standing next to her. Then again cast Imp.Inv., hide in shadows and go meet with the rest of the party. That's it. Only one cultist and only one Aec Letec to kill. Good luck.

Or just charm the head cultist (make sure you're invisible first. She makes her save sometimes) and then feel free to demolish all of the statues in any way you please. Or, of course, just fight the battle .

If you charm her, can you still initiate dialogue with her later on?

I don't remember if you can talk to her afterwards or you have to attack her first, but everything works out fine.
