Toad Quest

Ok, I don't know if you saw my earlier post about the Toad Village. I posted it about 3 weeks ago. I've been so busy at work I haven't been able to play. So let me tell you what's going on:

I have completed the crypt and I'm at the point were I can do the serpent temple or toad village. Since the warriors need to do the toad village, I though I would do it first.

I have already talked to Mekdawa and he's told me to go to Ekbu and say Ukabu. I also gave Mekdawa the potion.

So off I go to the Toad Village. I've never been there before. I make sure no other toads see me or get in range to say "Warm-Skins dangerous!". I go up the ladder, onto the port thing, I go towards the hut, and I see 2 toads. The one in front is Ekbu. So I slowly walk up to him and before he says anything, I say "Ukabu". As soon as I say it he screams "You not Ukabu, leave now!".

So... What the crap do I do? I want to complete all quests and missions in the game. I don't want to start all over, but if I have to I will. Why doesn't Ekbu just calm the F down and say "Hello Ukabu, welcome." or whatever he's supposed to say?

This is really frustrating, and on my earlier post about the same subject I never found a solution.

Is this a glitch in the game or what? What does the Toad village quest give me anyway?

If you send me a copy of your save game (zipped) prior to meeting Ekbu I should be able to tell you fairly quickly whether it's a glitch or not.

Is the character that gave the potion to Mekdawa the one who speaks to Ekbu?
Are you typing in Ukabu or choosing it off of the talk window keywords?
This shouldn't matter but maybe - do you have the signet ring?
Are you running the patch?

The Toad Villiage quest is worth doing to raise your level in the guild and also because touching the totem will give your characters a permanent addition to hit points. You also get a spear and some gold. These are all helpful at this point of the game but you can skip them all and still do fine.

Rather than restarting - you could revert your game allowing you to do this quest over.

Hope others with come up with some other ideas for you to try, or that something here helped!

Javrix, This happened to me on my second play. Did you go back to the temple and receive a promotion for the potion.? Try that then talk to Mek. again. Go back to Ekbu let him talk all the way through than say Ukabu... should work.

Hey, thanks guys for all your replies. I read them all, and the answer to every single one is yes. I've done it all. I zipped my saved game and sent it to Xignal. Hopefully he'll be able to find the problem. Thanks again guys.
