Is there any point in fighting her? She is in the same area as Rufie and challenges you right away. Is it worth it to try to kill her and her companions or is it better to just leave?

I think they're terribly rude, so I'd try to kill them anyway

They don't give that much experience, but there is at least one magic item...

Besides, I believe fighting this kind of groups gives some "real" experience of the gameplay. So it won't add a lot to your experience number, but you'll try and experiment, and eventually end up more experienced then your experience number indicates...

Actually - it is a studded leather +2 (a very good item for Imoen - or another thief)

and there is 72 +1 arrows - a large amount

and IIRC a +1 sword as well

So just kill them - fireballs (from item or potion) works well.

I find it amusing that almost to a fact...everyone that you meet on the Sword Coast wants a part of you and your party...I know that you are the center of the game so that attracts a large amount of attention on it's own but there seem to be people all over the coast who seem to have no concern with the plot who want to try and rough you up. With this kind of attitude it is a wonder that the Sword Coast has any sustainable population at all.

Baggins, The sustainable population stays within the cities. The ones that prefer to do alot of killing spend all there time in the wilds unless they have a target that in particular can only be loctated in a town.

Without a doubt it Sendai and her two companions provides one of the toughest fights in the game due to the fact that most parties are not that high in in levels. Here is what I did...

As soon as the dalogue was over I concentrated all my ranged weapons on her so that she couldn't cast on me. Then I split the party's attention between her arrow firing companions. She is so arrogant that I just had to take her out. If you have the Boots that give you speed put your best swordsman on one of thos archers but only when Sendai is down.

Yep, Imo, Sendai is the best melee opponnent in the beggining of the game except for Greywolf, if you choose to fight him, or even encounter him at all. This fight is really made a challenge though, by the two archers she has with her, Delgod and Alexander.

Since melee works best against ranged and vice versa, it is best to have several weaker characters attack Sendai with ranged weapons and have sevral tanks with many healing potions run up and attack the two archers with melee.

If possible you should posistion your ranged attackers on the ledge that is to the left of where Sendai and her freinds are, as it will make it harder for Sedai to reach you there. Be careful to ensure that your tanks will still be able to get to the archers easily though.

In the end though, this fight is really well worth it. The extra arrows are not really worth all that much, but can be helpful in some of the tougher battles. The leather armor can be used for a while if you have a thief, and then makes a nice down payment on the Shadow armor later in the game. If you use Sendai's sword on one character and The long sword of Varscona on another, you can have a couple of kick ass melee characters pretty early in the game.

"A soft answer turneth away wrath." Gildor Fairflight is so good he patted her on the head and sent her on her way. Imoen's attempt to pick her pocket failed.
