Erm thats just something to put you off of the real reason.
There are no other words ending in -GRY.
It's like:
"Mississippi is a big word. Spell it."
Your first thought is...Mississippi...M I S S I S S I P P I... but really it should be:
"Mississippi is a big word. Spell 'it'."
Thus the answer is... I T.

This is a spoken riddle for those who havent heard it, it would be pointless to have it written down.

It's all about the way you read the question... and to be honest it's just a written version of the one mentioned above, just a little more complex so some thinking is involved.
