I prefer the Army of Darkness quote, but that's probably just me.
I go to the Ohio Renaissance Festival whenever possible. Very interesting. Even better when someone's explaining something medieval and I think, "Already knew that... and that... and that..."

I dont think they consider the SCA a Renaissance Festival but there close enought. The SCA is great and you should defenatly check if there is a group around you.

I have been to Scarborough Faire, in Waxahachie, many times. Piestrider's *other family* lives there, as I used to. I don't care for them, but he does.

Iron_Ranger,
They're fun, in my farout freaky Art school days I used to be one of the living Chessmen at the Ringling Museum Medeivl Fair I got to kill the Black Knight but was waxxed by the Queen did the Miami Ren. fair but most of our fighting troop were to jazzed when they found out Disney World was sending a talent scout down to look at us for their (then new) Medeivl restaurant. half of the troop forgot the corregraphed moves they were supposed to make. The other half of us got stabed, kicked or hit at the wrong time I limped home with a swolen ankle and more bruises then I want to remember from the missplaced strokes.

We got a Rennesaince Fair in NY. I forget where, some woods. I go there every year, the Jousting, Mud Pit fight, Acrobatic, and the food (especially Steak on a Stake) is great.

Iron Ranger, you should tell us all about the one you're going to when you get back!
