These should be pretty obvious but here goes anyhow. You shouldn't study with *anyone* you might get side tracked this. I've met my pals for studying times a dozen times over, and ended up talking about parties and such. Do it alone, or with someone you know that won't make conversation. It's better to study in a quiet place. (obviously.) Don't stick around a place where you'll get side tracked.

If you haven't taken notes beforehand studying for some subjects are pretty hopeless. Like *ALGEBRA* for instance. If you haven't taken any notes before an Algebra exam, and you don't understaned anything. You better find someone who does and fast. You either know that stuff or you don't.

Write stuff down. That's the only way I can study. I read and make an outline of what I'm reading as I go. I have to actually write the material down before it sinks in. I guess that's just the type of learner I am.

Study really should come 1st if it matters, not BG2 and other stuff then study. It's all to do with ur ability to concentrate. I don't have time to type too much as i am cooking . But remember, after all that stuff, u can not concentrate so, study 1st and sleep and eat well!!! No noise and distraction especially!

I'd agree with pretty much what everyone has said above. A couple of other pointers are;

When you write notes, make sure they are well structured and you understand everything you are writing down - don't just copy sentances out of books. This way, you are actually processing what is on the page and it is in some kind of order; this makes things a lot easier when it comes to revision, (using different colours helps as well).

Make sure you study where there are no distractions; For example, my computer is right next to my desk - you won't believe the number of times I check my emails during a day, when I'm supposed to be working.
I have to turn it off, and leave it off. Same thing applies to tv's etc...- give your BG2 cds to someone if you have to.

The main thing is, as many people have said, is take time to relax. I find going for a jog helps me imensely. I can concentrate far better afterwards, and feel far less tired.

EDIT;
1 more; make sure you go to the toilet before you sit down to work

Red - It can work to do group study, but I think it depends on the subject. A few years back I was doing Ancient History 'A'-level, and a small group of us used to get together for a couple of bottles of wine and discussion. We'd set an 'agenda' beforehand, and all read up in advance on the topics we were going to cover. Then when we met, we would debate some of the issues and controversies for whatever topic, covering about 3 topics in a session. It worked really well, different people brought out different perspectives on the subject, and it was good fun too.

KDog - do you speak from experience? Er... been there, done that... the day before an exam as a 'reward' for my hard work. Short-term memory loss is not all it's cracked up to be
