I'll get used to it I guess. Seems like there is a cycle to posting.
If I post right now, it takes approx 4 minutes 22 seconds before it
pops up. However, if I post in another 4 minutes and 15 seconds from
that first post, both messages pop up. I think the board gets
all the messages first, then puts them together, and makes them
available. I guess that's how flood control works. Thank you very much
for the help with the html. I got my signature working from the help of
both you and Sir_Tainly. Again, want to say thank you again Sir_Tainly.
If nothing else, you helped me to feel like I wasn't talking to myself.
LOL

Tobes, don't worry, I spent 2 days in here talking to myself

Regarding the way flood control works, you're absolutely right.

I found the connection and page loading really fast on our LAN but sometimes messages weren't updated that quickly. I didn't really time them, but it suited me fine - otherwise I'd spend all day on the board That way I can make hit and run posts.

HI all! Getting ready to head to work!

Memny- still running around avoiding me? HAHAHAHA... you LIKE rain, huh? I had the login repeatedly thing at home too...figured out why...server sends COOKIE every time you post, it seems. As a rule, I don't accept the things on my home computer without a good reason- and I must have been clicking 'no don't accept' out of sheer habit! Do have the LAN at work, and notice a bit of lagging in posts showing up, but nothing too bad. Probably our firewall has something to do with things too. The gate out of my building is the real problem...too many users in the afternoon. Bogs the system down.

Hi Vicotnik! Tobbin, Sir Tainly IS a figment of your imagination...HAHAHAHA

Catch you all later...hey Memny, this thread takes FOREVER to load no matter where I am- may be all the gifs etc.

Storm-Queen, thinking about SNOW on Sydney...hehehe

Flood control just stops one person from posting 1 after another in to close a time. Posts show up almost instantly. Floodcheck just protects the server from some guy coming in and posting with a script to crash the system or something too..

Tobbin, It's worth waiting a few seconds more if it means the server is going to stay stable

StormQueen think about how many gifs, html etc are on this thread though! I'm easing up on using it unless i really want to make a point, it's taking too long to type messages

It's a good feeling though, knowing that you're hitting the century mark and you don't have to create a new thread. This will be our FIRST centennial thread. And I created it

I find this forum is much faster, my replies appear within 90 secs and I only have a bog standard 56k V90 modem. Not sure why you are having problems folks.

By the way, like this sig or the old one better?

Yes thanks, coincidentently I just replied! I am at work, but I just popped in during my lunch. Can't upload from her, so I will do it to-night. I think it will prove popular with the ladies, especially the American ones

Hey Ziroc, I totally apologize if it sounds like I am ragging on your new forum. I love it. I wish we could have been using it all along. Especially now that you have the spammers section. LOL. And Yes, after posting 30 something messages in less than a few hours, I guess I'll have to admit it. *stands up* Yes, I am a spammer.
