I've found the best way is to approach cautiously, during full day light; when you can just see the outline of the beast, start cracking on it with magma bombs/flamestrikes/meteors. Continually retreat, keeping an eye on your back. If you get stuck on some trees, or other enemies assail you, RUN. Regroup, and repeat. You shall eventually wear down the beasts.

Basically... since they are plants... any fire type spell does damage to them. One of my crew took them out just by using his Dragon fire breath on them (from a distance of course)~ good hunting!

They also have a problem getting around corners sometimes and up hills slows them down. Flamedrop will hold them in place.

I summoned like 4 fiends and it was pretty awesome. However there were 3 of those damned plants and I took plenty of damage in the process.

Also, my machine slowed WAY down with all the effects flying around.
