I'll answer that question. Yes I would act selfishly, because it is in the nature of all mankind to do so. To deny that fact is to deny the whole of human history. Everybody acts selfishly, maybe not all the time but they still act selfishly, to deny that is the height of selfish pride and self importantance.
Before anybody tries to dispute this remember the saying "nobody is perfect". You either believe that saying and have to agree with me in my above statements, or you disagree and prove my statement to be true by showing unfounded selfish importance of thinking you are the only human on this planet that's perfect.

Do I need God's salvation YOU BET! Because I'm a sinner, to deny that would be the hieght of selfish foolishness for me. Do I rely on God's strenght You Bet! Is God a "crutch" You Bet! Only the fool who has a broken leg refuses to use a crutch, the same is true for the broken soul. Am I perfect, don't make me laugh, am I forgiven by the King of Kings You bet!

Being a Christian doen't mean you are perfect, far from it, it means you realize your down falls and wish to overcome them, and knowing that you can't do it on your own. Even a "little White lie" IS still a lie, a mile an hour over the speed limit is still breaking th law of the land. Cheating 1 penny from you taxes is still cheating, doing anything wrong no matter how small is still wrong! It's like being pregnent you can't be kinda pregnent either you are or your aren't. Some of you may think that's harsh, and you'd be right, I don't try to fool myself or others by justifying actions away. There is not justification only forgiveness, or condemnation the choice is yours I can't make it for you.

Timber, try Groton state park in VT, the little deer mountain hiking trail (if my memory of the name is correct) the trail ends at the top of the mountain (ok, hill for those of you that live near the Rockies ) continuedown the other side about 75-100 yrds you break through the forest and come to a rock outcropping overlooking the valley and lake below.
