I honestly thought that Senegal deserved to win that match, much better play etc. but thats the way of games.

Groj you cannot call me a bad loser since my team doesn't even play in the world cup.I am not supporting another nation.
What I support is FOOTBALL.
There is a major difference between Korea and Turkey, who both are in the semifinals.Turkey is there thanks to their own game their own strenght,NOT thanks to "accidental" arbitral mistakes.
Anyway this is my point of view.Feel free to disagree just don't dub me with names I don't deserve.

See Memnoch's post, he brought the same point as I did only in a more subtle way. And you've stated before in this very same thread you were supporting Spain, so in a way, it *was* "your" team. Maybe not the one from your country, but as sure as heck the one you were supporting.
And your remark about the difference between Korea and Turkey is wrong on so many levels, that all I can say is read what Memnoch had to say about the subject.

With a miraculous break in tradition, I'm going to throw in my somewhat belated respects to England for their grace in defeat. Though I did not support the team, it was obvious they had the whole nation behind them... and if the pundits or media make any of the England team a scapegoat, i'll be seriously dissapointed.

That's the whole point, they didn't. The FIFA has even complemented the English supporters for their gracefulness in defeat, saw an official statement on it on a news site.

Just thought this was a nice article.

Beckenbauer says Germany were lucky to beat U.S.

BERLIN (Reuters) - Former Germany captain and coach Franz Beckenbauer said that the three-times winners were lucky to beat the United States 1-0 in their World Cup quarter-final.

"America were clearly the better team for 90 minutes," said Beckenbauer, an analyst for Germany's pay-television network. "We'll have to raise our game considerably after this. Hopefully, good fortunate will remain faithful to us.

Beckenbauer also said Germany were fortunate the referee failed to award the Americans a penalty kick four minutes into the second half when German defender Torsten Frings handled on the line after Oliver Kahn had half-saved a Gregg Berhalter shot.

"It's actually a clear penalty kick when one's hand touches the ball on the goal line," he said. "It should have been a penalty."

Beckenbauer, who helped Germany win the World Cup as a player in 1974 and led them to the title as coach in 1990, said Germany had been passive for long stretches against the Americans.

"I can't explain it," he said. "Leading 1-0 you have to keep trying to penetrate into the other team's defence."

Beckenbauer said even though the Americans had played strongly, Germany would probably not have survived had they faced a more dangerous opponent.

"The opponent wasn't Brazil or England or Argentina," he said. "This was America!"

Now now now, don't try and get away using a technicality, Helspanth...you've been supporting Spain all the way (as have I). Grace in defeat, even if you feel hard done by. That's what separates men from whinging boys - you cop it on the chin when it's all over.

If it's any consolation - I'm suffering too. But Spain's multimillionaires should have stood up and been counted when it mattered - where were they when the crunch came?

Aside from that, you're completely right.
