My wife wants to play MY game!...
I first tried to install a copy to a new directory... no good Then I copied my saved games from the "SAVE" directory, thinking she could start with a "clean slate", but the game wouldn't let us leave the Inn, because it still thought my Group was out adventuring. What files do I need to swap out so we can each play our separate games with a full 6-save-game slots? ...or is there a simpler way? |

Welcome to the board, Jisha!!
Are you both playing on the same machine or two separate computers. Did she try just loading one of your saved games - not starting out in the inn?? If she wants to use your characters, but not start off where you currently are playing - have her, in her game version, go into the computer options screens and RESET ADVENTURES. That should bring all your characters back to the inn. You do need the gamexx.sav files from the save directory. You might also need the roster.dat file as well. Hope that solves your problem!! HAVE FUN!! Wyv and now a message about what happens when you make a typo: [This message has been edited by Wyvern (edited 06-12-2001).] |

Thank you Wyvern and Mr-Eiz.
Together, you led me to a great solution! ...Yes, we are using only one computer for the game right now... but soon...I'll have another When I looked at the 'ROSTER' file, I noticed the modified date was recent. So, I resorted the files in the main directory by date, and copied all of the files which had been modified since the date on file INSTALL.LOG. I also copied all game files from the SAVED directory (of course!) I then went back into the game and 'reset adventures' in the game options. This enabled me to create new Characters and start a new game, having all 6 save-games slots available. Afterward, I swapped out the newly modified files with MY game files... and Viola! ...worked like a charm! I may have forgotten some of the details... but this is the gist of it. Again, thanks alot! You've made my wife and me very, very happy! Christopher |
