I think what seems weird is that this appears to be a post immigration thing. I think only a lunatic would have a problem with immigration laws, controls and checks.
It is also very narrow. Why weren't Irish included? Or French? Or Spanish? Or anyone with the surname McVeigh? etc... Only Islamic states and North Korea seem to be involved. Australia has copped a lot of flak for it's immigration policies and treatment of refugees. Much of it deserved, some of it not. (eg: All refugees should be immediately released into the community while awaiting assesment - Um, yeah, that's smart  )I guess what the article doesn't say is why people who've been deemed eligible to live and work in the US are now subject to even more scruitiny than the ones already mentioned. (obvious reasons I know...) It does seem to be a bit of the "you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs" mentality. However, I don't not equate Bush with Hitler, USA with NAZI Germany, and am sorry if anyone got offended there. I do feel it's good to keep an eye on these things before they turn into something no one wants though.
