LMAO!

yeah...I have the "I'll regret it if I don't get it now" syndrome myself.

Probably why, even with a discount of 20%, I've managed to spend about $500.00 of DVD's since June.

Yeah...*guilty look*...I'm addicted...*sigh*

And I agree with the whole 'widescreen' issue. It used to bother me - those black bars, but now I don't even notice. And I'm saving up to get a widescreen tv, too!

I so much prefer the wide screen. You loose 1/3 of a movie in full screen. You may think that it is just the "unimportant" stuff on the sides, but there are a lot of nuances to plots that are in the back ground and get left out with pan 'n scan editing.

unforgivably off-topic, but I wonder what Tyler Durdan would have to say about all of this (or Osama Bin Ladin for that matter).

I think if Osama could see Tolkien's work tastefully brought to the big screen against the beautiful backdrop of New Zealand's country side he would mellow immensely. If that didn't completely do it, I'm sure the book ends and the free ticket to The Two Towers in the Collector's Edition would turn the trick.
