I just started the game and I was on my way down to Nashkel and I killed a half orge or something and they had a letter. I don't remember what it said but it was to someone named Mirianne and from someone named Roe. Does anyone know what to do with it? And is there any use for bounty notices.

Marianne is one of the encounters in Beregost that will ask you about news concerning her husband. Well now you know! I am almost positive that you'll get a reputation point if you bring her this news. Since you found this letter first you'll need to talk to her first to triggter her request and then talk to her a second time and give her the sad information that her husband "bought the farm."

As for bounty notices you can sell them for a gold piece or just drop them where you stand. They are a major clue that someone is out to end your life and they are very serious about it.

The delivery guy was the one who got killed. I think Marianne's husband is still safe. Remember, read the note. (You might be mixing this up with a fetch-and-deliver quest in Nashkel.)

Yesh, you may be right. I only fulfilled this quest once when I played BG1 the first time several years ago.

First, her husband bought passage on a ship, not a farm! Also, Mirianne will give u a nice ring for bringing her the good news! I'd do it! Depends though... you may be feeling evil!

Well it's a +1 ring of protection so I'd do it even if I was running an evil party.

There are no uses for the bounty-notices - other than selling them for a few gp (and giving you a little bit of paranoia )

Her house is located in the middle of the far eastern part of town.

It's a little cottage and I believe it is directly above or north of the ThunderHammer Smithy Shop.

It's also a little difficult to find the front door of the home, you can only reach this front door by coming from the north (IIRC).

Actually you can keep the integrity of your 'evil-party' and STILL get the ring, you simply have to pickpocket the poor 'Damsel in Distress'.

It's one of the set of houses that you have to enter from the east side of the map. It's a little difficult, as you really don't get that much room to move your whole party in.

Edit: I think it's one that you can access if you travel inside the fence surroundng Thunderhammer's on the right of the screen. Have a look, you'll find it.
