i found this in the darkslayers.com forum...
"36) I know W&W is shipping as a single player game, but the code for multiplayer is in there. Will multiplayer capability be released as a patch or expansion? That will depend upon how many requests Activision receives for us to re-install it. " has anyone fooled around with trying to ge tmultiplayer to work...? or know what files have been packaged with the game that deal with multiplayer..? |

Morrak, I sure hope that we could somehow play multiplayer. That would just be awesome! (You will be on my team, right?)

I would hazard a guess that some code editing would have to be done to get the multiplayer functionality to work. It would make a nice addition though.

AFAIK, I don't think Multiplayer will work, based on Alzagor's information about it...it would require splitting the party and viewing in 3rd-person view, according to him.
Alzagor may have more information on this, if he's out there..?? -Sazerac |

I'm not sure what's going on "under the hood". To get multiplayer to work, it could be a few simple switches here and there in the code. To have complete multiplayer however, you'll have to see the PC models in the 3D world. The ones currently in the game are stripped down versions, with low-res skins. A simple barebones patched *.exe would also require you to download the 200+ MB PC models in their original form
Another reason why the PC models / 3rd person camera was removed was probably the models sucking up heaps of RAM. Most people don't have high-end systems. I would have been happy with having the option of deciding for myself, instead of it being totally removed. |

perhaps we should "band together" and get some polls goign on some of the RPG sites, thus, throwing gas on the fire, spark some interest in the idea and toss it in activisions court..? who better to ask heuristics to add multiplayer than them right..?
