Don't worry. It'll still be there next week, Larry!

Maybe, but if it goes as fast as BG2, then it could be a nightmare trying to get a copy. I had to go to 15 different places to get my collector's edition, (still in the original plastic wrap), but in the long run, it's probably going to be worth the wait. Patience is a virtue!!! I'll be a little behind on my collection, as this winter is killing my PC Game Fund!

roberthebard: Where do you live? I've got one CompUsa in my area and they have had at least 10 copies of all the BG stuff (1, TOTSC and 2) as well as IWD on their shelves every time I go in. I just bought Planescape Torment and they've had that kicking around for ages (there's an advert for IWD-coming soon in it!). They finally dropped the price on it, to sell, but have at least 8 more copies on the shelf.

Is it just the first rush that depletes the supply, maybe?

They did NOT have HOW. I asked and they didn't see it in their inventory yet, either. sniffle

LoA: did you order from Interplay online?

I went to a couple of software stores today. They all said it was due in tomorrow and they had no waiting lists.

To all those in Britain:
I was told in my local store that it wasn't due for release until 15 March
We have to wait for everything! and the weather's cr*p. I'm going to emigrate.
Someone please tell me this isn't true!
The man in the shop tried to cheer me up by telling me they were going to be having a big Black Isle promotion when it was released - they'd have all the games there and posters up.
Big deal, I just want my game.

I WANT MY HOW!!!! NOW!!!!!! (throws a hissyfit)

Ok, I'll check again tomorrow and the next day and the next...sigh...I suppose I could order from Interplay ...sniffle

Turbo: I did get Planescape Torment, though....feed that addiction- YAH! Haven't loaded or read the manual- can it be played multi as well?

Epona: Don't come here, then. Weatherwise, it's no improvement! Avg temp just now is in the low teens Farenheit! Grey, cloudy and occasional sleet, freezing rain and snow.
And I don't have HOW, either!

Ah, Cloudbringer, at least I am not alone in the misery into which I have been plunged by the evil ways of the Games Distributors.
I guess it's another run-through for BGII to keep me going then.
I have tried Planescape Torment, but didn't get too far as I found myself a bit confused (that happens to me a lot lately, not just in games )
I will retry it - I think my mistakes were: A. not getting to grips with the character development system - it is way different from BGII : B. staying as a fighter. The magic system looks interesting so next time I will push most of my initial stats into Intelligence and Wisdom and become a spellcaster as quickly as possible. I think that the character interaction is a lot better if you have high intelligence - it seems more important for the role playing aspect of the game than it did in the BG games.

Epona: Misery loves company, huh?! I expect to drive the salesclerks at my local store bonkers for the next few days. Maybe if I badger them enough they'll get me a copy from the city (NYC)!

Odd question here, but I noticed in another post you spelled out "What a b*mmer" using the asterisk. Since I know we use it to 'soften' less than 'nice' words I was wondering if it is considered such in the Queen's English? We use it around here from 5 yr olds to grandmas and it's an everyday, family safe expression. Of course, I know how those language things can be! A friend married a man from Scotland and we have a chain of candy stores called (asterisks for your benefit!) F*nny Farmer in the northeast USA. She used the word once in front of his buddies in England and he was mortified... (grin) learn something new every day! LOL!

ok, language student mode off!
