Iraq is certaintly no threat to anyone but an invasion force with the U.N. stuck up their butts.

People are opressed and supressed by a variety of dictators around the world for years now, so the logic to go to war because of it now just because Saddam is an evil dictator is flawwed with contradiction.

Waiting doesn't change the relatively stable economic and social status quo (except for the current and on-going drain on the U.S. economy) and NOBODY GETS BOMBED!!!

And if war is truly the last resort, then obviously the U.S. still has options to attack and invasion. Certainly til the U.N. inspectors have finished their work we do not have all the facts. Why can't war wait til we atleast have all the facts?

You are certainly right that Iraq is not a threat.... so long as there is 250,000 troops waiting at his door. The U.S. and U.K. cannot and will not keep their militaries stationed there forever. It would be imensely expensive and would actually do more damage in the long run for our economies. In fact, the U.S. stock market is waiting for this whole "war with Saddam" to be resolved, investers prefer certainty.

And for the argument that there are other dictators around the World that are equally as bad as Saddam or even worse, is not a good argument for why Saddam ought not be the current focus. The reason why the U.S. and U.K. are so decisive about focusing on Iraq right now and not, say - North Korea, is because it is not in our interest to fight a country that has a nuclear capability (be it untested). Saddam, on the other hand has proven over the past 20 or so years to not only have an appetite for the most destructive of weapons (a nuke), but has shown that he will even use a WMD (chemical) on innocent, non-combatants. Waiting until Iraq develops such weapons and the delivery capability, would put the world in the situation it is in now with North Korea.

The inspectors have been trying to do there their job, however it is impossible to fulfill such duties when the other party (Iraq) is doing everything in their power to thwart such fulfillment! Moreover, it has never been the purpose of the inspections to FIND things, it was to assure and prove that Iraq is disclosing and disarming from the WMDs that they are known to have. In fact, you theoretically wouldn't need the 150 plus inspectors that are currently there in order to prove he is disarming, you could get by with only a fraction because again, the purpose is to record and prove of disarmament, NOT find things that are being hidden.
The problem is that, so long as Saddam and his regime is in power, we will never be able to get all the facts that fit.

Sheesh, exactly how many facts do you want ? It's all there, and still people want more facts.

Chewie I actually have a good answer for your initial question...because every day that US forces are deployed, we loose people to accidents and mistakes. Every hour that we wait, more iraqi's are tortured and murdered, every minute we wait, new Iraqi's are born to suffer under Saddam.

It is far more reasonable to attack and get it over with as quickly and bloodlessly as possible. Every minute you wait he digs in deeper and prepares more.

Why do you want to give him an even bigger advantage? and why do you wish to see more Iraqi's suffer? Do you hate them so much and feel so little for your fellow man?
