Portraits

I am pretty good at many things but am pretty awful at many more. Computer literacy falls into the latter. I have seen all the portraits available on the internet but am at a loss as to how to get them into BG1,Icewind Dale or BG2. The directions seem straightforward, however, I still need help. The BGII manual says to "create a directory called Portraits in the root directory where you installed BGII:SoA. The default is C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA." How do I find the root directory and then create a portrait directory?! And then, how do I put the portraits into the portrait directory?!

If you are using Winzip to unzip compressed files . . . when it asks you where to extract files to . . . type (I assume the following path -- you probably have one floppy disk, a cd and a hard drive -- labeled c drive)"c:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII-SOA\Portriats" and Winzip will create the portrait folder for you.

Open the My Computer icon and explore your computer until you are in the BGII-SOA directory, then right click on your mouse and choose "new" from the menu. Select "folder" and type in "Portraits" -- ignore the quotations when typing commands. Copy any portrait files here and you won't go wrong.

Thanks Father Bronze. Actually...I just spent the last two hours trying to figure it out and "accidentally" fell into the correct directory and then put some portraits in and used ShadowKeeper to change the portraits I was presently using in BG2. IT WORKED!!! Will wonders never cease!
