Re: MM7 Mod - my status
Exactly right on the Jesters Spawn in the previous area! I just went and mowed all the other enemies down first.
Then I set paralyze as the ready spell and cast summon elemental about 8 times (2 times each). Then I paralyzed Jesters Spawn. Then, just stand there and let the elementals take it down. For those who are wondering why we didn't just attack it. It can only be hurt with magic. I didn't realize that you don't need to kill it anyway. Another dragon further in the cave has the key. Edit: and why do you need Armageddon? Killing stuff outside is too easy. Just cast fly and when the ranged attacks come in, just move up and down. Meteor shower and starburst work well too, but I would still go with the rifles. Paralyze 'em too if you have to. Just don't engage too many of them at once.

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
FYI, Variol... I believe it's only light and dark magic that affect the Spawn. I tried a couple of other spell schools, and nothing...
I haven't really used summon elemental in the past. I'll have to give it a more serious look now. And I agree that flying combat is a piece of cake, but I like HBR attacks in realtime... something about that machine gun effect really appeals to me You don't get that in turn-based mode, and I have to restart it every time I move. Funny... I hadn't thought about meteor shower and starburst! They've often been an outdoor favorite. I guess I'm hooked on HBR...

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
I tried a clerical spell on JS and it did do damage. I just assumed the elemental stuff would work as well.

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
The first JS is the only one that's immune to physical attacks... the one(s) you hit in the last battle are not. I don't think I tried any clerical spells against it... I usually don't think of those when it's time for combat

Sheesh, that well is crazy!! And for some reason, it doesn't take the 5000 gold that it's supposed to.
With GM prot from magic, you don't die either!

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
The well in Bracada takes gold... not that one. Heck, it *GIVES* gold...
Just remember that every *bad* thing that Protection from Magic prevents is a chink in its armor... and when you get as many chinks as the Body level of the caster, it goes away. That's why my cleric had level 33 or 36 in Body.... If you can get a level 1 party there, they can finish the game without *ever* leveling up.... easily.... Remember to save early and often...

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
I'm talking about Eofel. And I just cast PfM fairly often.
So, I just started a new party of 4 thieves; should be interesting.
