Please provide links or references with your posts.
I thought that plagerism was when you copied another persons work and claimed that it was yours. I never saw anywhere in Chewbaccas post that stated that it was in his own words and as you said yourself it was quite obviously from an article or some such. If you wanted a link so that you could see a bit further into the story then I can think of plenty of other ways to ask this short of accusing someone of doing something wrong.

As Chewie said, alot of people copy/paste articles and news bulletines (I'm one of them, how about Arvon and his jokes? Or Charean and her topics?). This has never been a problem before that I have known.

As for the reason for this thread, I got two words... Go Army!

The moderators will begin asking everyone to stop copying so much and provide more links to topics you wish to discuss. If you copy and paste an article, everyone will be requested to provide a link or a reference.

Megabot, don't be such a big-shot. In the end, you know it's the right thing to do.

How would anyone know if he copied the thing word for word? How would everyone know that it was not his words? We have had some complaints from members, not knowing where the article ends, and the member's words begin. Not on this thread, but on others. It is going to stop, and you are going to do this correctly.

By the way, I was called on this myself, back in April when I was posting material for IWD2. Memnoch told me not to do it, and I listened to him. I did not cry and whine and make excuses. I began provding links and references, parting the material aside from my own so that nobody would call me on it. Now I am expecting you all to follow the same request.

Actually, I do make sure I have links or sources where I found my info in my posts. I am a stickler for that.

On topic, I figure if someone isn't professional enough to be quiet about his personal life, the military might not be the safest place for them.

I know it seems stupid and in fact anybody that has ever served in the U.S. Military knows one thing. Rules are Rules and that is that and until the rules are changed this is the way it has to be. The U.S. Military doesn't make the rules Congress makes the rules they just follow them. But it seems that they follow some rules to far and until Congress changes the rules the Gay soldier will have to suffer. As far as I'm conserned I don't think Gays or women belong in combat service for any reason. I don't care how tough they are or how good they are in a fire fight. I've been in combat in Nam and two people I knew very well were killed in my unit. Only myself and one other person knew that the other two were gay and we kept it a secret until one evening in July 1970.
We got pinned down in a fire fight one evening on insertion patrol. I won't use names but there were 9 of us on patrol that day the two gays I'll call #1 & #2 the sargent told #2 to take point and #1 was about 6th or 7th in line. #2 was making way to much noise and sarg started to make his way up to him because, Sarg wanted him to slow down and quiet down before the whole squad got blasted but, sarg was too slow and #2 took a hit dead center of his chest he was dead before he hit the ground at he time we didn't know that yet. we all took cover and for about 30 seconds rounds were cutting folage all around us then as fast as it started it stopped. Sarg got to #2 on hands and knees and said no med was needed #2 was dead thats when #1 jumped up and started running to #2. He got half way there when a dozen shots cut him in two, the last thing he said is I loved him,why did they have to kill him, then he died too. Love and war don't mix and that means no gays, no women, and no sexual situations in combat.
maybe this doesn't prove anything but from that day on I made sure that there were no more gays in my squad, and still believe that girls and gays are not needed in the Military they only get other people killed.

I do agree that professional roles and intimate relationships are a dangerous mix, in most any profession.

I strongly disagree that being a woman or homosexual makes one less of a soldier. Particularly if that soldier has a very useful skill, talent or competence that is vital for security, the sole reason FOR the military, security.

I can only agree to disagree with anyone who thinks differently.
