Is there going to be a spaceballs 2??

Sure hope so. Then all this SW stuff will finally get yet another well-deserved laugh in the face. Maybe they can make Jar Jar a striptease dancer. Or let a fat woman act as Queen Amidala and let her wear a g-string bikini.

And heck, if I had advanced technology at my disposal, why would I be so dumb as to settle for a close-quarter melee weapon like a lightsaber? The whole Star Wars saga strikes me as full of such irrationalities. It just doesn't feel believable and convincing, even granting that it's supposed to be fantasy. (And you're supposed to take it all seriously, too!) Can never understand how dear uncle Lucas could ever have come up with this sort of stuff and how so many people could go bonkers over it.

I actually have precious little against all this Star Wars stuff so long as I don't have to run into it well nigh every moment of my waking life. Unfortunately, this is becoming an impossibility. It honestly gets on my nerves how I can hardly turn a corner in any shop or on any street without being further assaulted by Star Wars ads or music. Even when I just want to order a pizza by phone, I hear the stupid SW theme music on the phone, too. Please, is there no way I can get away from this madness?
Damn spoilsport! It's a classic dude! I still think the best plot and story was still "A New Hope". "The Phantom Menace" was a GROSS error in judgement. Please reserve the cheesy cannon fodder robots for Power Ranger movies. You know what I mean. I guess you'd have to be a fan and follow the story to understand. The Jedi is supposed to use his sabre both as a deadly weapon and an impenetrable defense. Try playing the video game and you'll get an idea.

I watched it last night too And while I thoroughly enjoyed it (the highlight being the last fighting sequence, of course ), I have 2 burning questions left unanswered after watching the movie:

Qn 1: How on earth (or in the galaxy) could Amidala not have aged a single year while Anakin grew up

Qn 2: What did she see in him at all?

Hope anyone with a rational answer can PM me, cos I don't want this to turn out a spoiler for those who haven't caught the show...

I've been wondering the same thing! The age thing really is a bit silly. How old was she supposed to be in the first one? 10?

Yay, at least someone agrees with me!!

Well, I thought she was around 15 and Anakin, about 8. But then, I could be mistaken

Seen it, but I don't think it was all that great. Somehow it seemed as though the film was constantly about to get up to speed. When it finally did, the movie was practically over.
Just before it ended, Lucas seemed to have deemed it nessecary to add a few last scenes to 'build up the tension' for part three, which, for me, did not work at all.
On top of that, it's standing at the edges of the shadow of the first LOTR film.
Not a bad movie though, just not as good as I'd hoped it would be. More Yoda-quality scenes maybe
