I downloaded it last night, but apparently did something wrong, as it won't run. Probably not supposed to on an xp system. Tips? I'm in the dark here, and there was no read me with the file.

I just extracted it in a new folder and then ran the .exe file. It opens a dos window on my PC. I run xp too so you should be able to get it to work

Ah, I extracted it to My Received files, but I didn't put it in it's own folder, maybe I should put all the applicable files in the same folder? It opens, but it won't run games, it lists a few famous games, but won't let me play. Maybe I just forgot what I need to do. Not sure, but I'll try combining all the files in one compact folder, and see what happens.

I just hit enter with the famous matches and after 3 times or so the game starts. With the right mouse button you can get to the menu and change some things like level there.

Ok, back to the drawing board then, I've typed in every dos command I could think of, maybe I'm short circuiting it.

Thanks, guys. I settled on Chessmaster... 10th Edition. There were apparently some issues with playability, thanks to their copy protection, but a patch resolves it.

Battlechess rocked man. Definately the chess game to choose if you want your kid to stay interested for a while. The animations are very entertaining
