i do wish to enjoy the game..
i use vanish at the caves to get to ishad nha so.. but i don't realy know what things i could find beyond the elevator..

i'm trying to use my disk 1 to install the game, but it makes those whizzy noises. is it scratched or do i have to do it manualy?

Hmmm... CD drive noises aren't fun. Take the disk out and look at it. Do you see any scratches, blemishes, or other markings on it? If so, the CD may be in bad shape, and cleaning may help. If not, then try putting it in the CD drive again; sometimes, it's just the way it sits.

If it still fails, then try the manual installation steps listed in Tech Tips.

If that fails... I don't have a good answer. But let's see if we get there first.

As for what's beyond the elevator, there are a couple of important things. The Ring of Saints for the temple guild quest, for one. And good ol' F'lokis Ra, that nice source of early XP. And the amulet that bursts from his chest and activates the Kerah statue, too. It's also the *official* way back to the start of the crypt. So it's worth getting into.

i will be putting Windows xp on soon, will it make things faster or worse?

Definitely different. You'll have to do a lot of the things in the Tech Tips thread in order to get the game to run, but it *should* be doable. Tristan's current experiences aside... [img]smile.gif[/img]
