Dude, two years ago I quit a job I hated but was sticking around with, and found a job that was twice as good. Everything happens for a reason - if you take advantage of the opportunity.

Sorry to hear that, Jorath

Another option might be for you to further your studies (ie, boost your CV with additional degrees). It could give you an edge over other competitors eyeing your ideal job.

Sorry to ear that Jorath, I know what it feels like, I'm a job hunter too. I handed in my resignation notice on Friday (I was required to give them a 3 months notice). So, I'm done on April 30th. Hope you find something that you like soon

3 mths notice...man, that's long. Is that normal in Canada? In Australia you only need three weeks. Unless you are moving to a competitor in which case they ask you to leave ASAP, pay you out in full, and watch you while you pack up your desk - which is what happened to me when I switched jobs a little over a year ago. No, it's not normal. I'm under contract for 14 years but I have the option of getting out after 9.5. If I wish to get out at that time, I must give them 90 days notice. After that 9.5, it's 30 days... I'm sure you can guess what kind of work I'm in.

BTW: Most jobs in Canada require 14 days notice for full-time work and 7 days for part-time.
