oops, forgot to answer second half of you question. They are +4 THAC0 and damage for unarmed combat. So, on a level 15 Monk, thats about a -3 THAC0, damage is 1-20+7, times 3 attacks per round = freakin' tornado.

I gave up playing the monk. He kept getting hit. Lady Avalon says she lasted much later, letting the Monk get harder, but I didn't have the patience. My next character will probably be a Stalker

I found it strange that monks have higher Magic Resistance than Wizard Slayers. Comments anyone?

I've played each class and found the Monk incredibly powerful. He was the only melee fighter I used. Did the game TWICE through with a Monk because I enjoyed it so much. Very very potent (Kills a dragon in one blow, took out Bodhis lair solo for example)

"Check the sustain on this one ... aaaaaaaa, I mean you could go out for a bite and there'd still be aaaaaaaaa"

"Can I touch it?"
"No. It can't be played"
"Can I look at it?
"No we've seen enough of that one....."

By the way, do they have a stronghold. I've heard it is the same as for fighters

I just finish the game with a MONK and i love it. Especially his quivering palm and in the higher levels he's pretty much the backbone of my party. Magic Resistance, no weapons required....
their kewl.
