Cloudy's Cafe

Come in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself

Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good
darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie.

The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines:

this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone

* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner

* any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences)
-a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short
conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately!

* Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!)

* do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it.

Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around the world. And purple napkins, of course!

The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by.

PLEASE NOTE

This is a modified reminder that I've posted before in reply to someone asking "can we spam the cafe". It still holds true, so I'm going to repeat it periodically for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Read the first post of the thread, it's NOT a spam zone. If you want to discuss you grades, a problem with a teacher, the weather, your neighbor's new car etc.....etc.. (real life conversations) this is the place. I don't mind a SMALL amount of spam but when the Cafe gets to be 8 pages in one day and it's all one liner pure spam, I have to ask people not to do it because most of the members who would come to talk about their day or things that they want advice or sympathy or cheers on, will not post in that atmosphere. I want you to be comfy here, but not at the expense of other members.

So the answer is NO, I don't want to see page after page of roleplay spam or one liner spamfests that could be done on msn or aim etc. because our goal is to TALK WITH one another , not fill up a cafe in five hours.

Craig David and Robbie Williams? Ugh.

Anyway.

I'm a sixth form student in Britain, which means I have to wear a suit to school. The skirt on this suit, the only one I have, has the annoying tendancy to roll up a little, meaning I have to pull it back down every three minutes.

I was on my way home today when I had the unparallelled satisfaction of witnessing hypocritical stupidity at its finest. Three girls were walking in the opposite direction from me, wearing mini-skirts which resembled wide belts and a bikini bra-thing. Sorry for the lack of accurate terms, but needless to say, they looked like the winners of the Slut of the Year awards.

As they approached me, they began whispering to each other and staring intently at my skirt, and as soon as they were behind me, one particularly cowardly one yelled, "TART!"

As I pulled my skirt down, I turned back and responded with, "And you're all ugly retards, but I can always wear a longer skirt." (Thank you Sir Winston Churchill!)

Of course, not allowing clarity and common sense to get the upper hand, another of the girls yelled back, "You wanna try sayin' that to my FACE?"

Pissed off, I couldn't help but respond with, "I just did, though looking like it does it could well've been your arse." and stalked off.

Their comeback? "You B***H!"

My God, do people not put any effort into insulting each other anymore?

Sounds like you should have took out the brass knuckles. And showed those little girls a thing or two about manors.

Aghhhhhhh I am at work and this is so boring today. The plant is running at top notch and no problem. It is a sad day when your goal is to reach a 1000 posts. I really do not care about the posts but I have to look forward to something today. Still 6 and half hours to go.

I was hoping for a new cafe and get the first post but I split to go play DX ball on the computer and just missed it.

'fraid not, Kat. People like that rarely give two braincells to cognitive thought! I don't usually pay much attention to them, you have to figure their opinions aren't worth much if they don't even know you and make stupid insults like that! Sheesh- well I guess they can strut about saying how 'cool' they must be to trash a stranger on the street or something...whatever floats their boats

No Kaltia, people don't even try making good insults, my comebacks always "I'm rubber you glue so #$%^ off!" and plus they're dumb sluts as you said so why listen to them? They probably evny you in some weird way and they want to make themselves feel cooler in someway by insulting you. If they keep it up just grab some freinds and get them to beat the crap outta them.

Hey cloud you have any kids. If not I think you would make a great Mom. You always have good words of wisdom. Ahhhhh buttering up lol

But I guess walking away and being the better person is always a good route to take. But the comment about talking to the arse was good.

Kaltia, you're in sixth form and have to wear a uniform? I don't! In my school sixth formers (that is years 12 & 13) have the "privilage" to wear what they want...I quoted it cos some people may not see it as a privilage. But I do, having worn a uniform all mt life...
