DinkumThinkum was correct... I was referring to the fact that you can buy exorcism scrolls at the Temple back door shop, and I didn't mean to infer that you could actually learn the spell before having level 7 spirit.

No jokes, honest

And as for rogues vs. barbarians, it's whatever your preference is. However, 100,000 XP for a warrior/barbarian will get you a *whole* lot farther than 100,000XP for a rogue, especially since you can't train that rogue in a guild until you get to Ishad N'ha-ha-ha...

Bottom line is that there are no right or wrong ways to play the game. And your rogue would look just as cute as a barbarian... cuter, maybe, since she could wear that little chain mail bra number she's seen in the stores...

One of the things you learn for your next game is to have *someone* with the cure poison spell before you enter the serpent temple Even though, as bsftcs will undoubtedly point out, there is always a cure poison book in a certain chest in there...
Book? I had one, but my only priest with Vine switched from Priest to Monk before reaching vine level 4 ability, so books wouldn't help... and once a monk you can't learn vine anymore.

I eventually solved that by getting a Ranger, but that (and then getting up to that spell) took a long time...

Rogues... I made mine a Ninja, and then Assassin... doesn't seem to have any armor problems now, but perhaps I don't know how it works (it does seem odd for an assassin to be able to wear any armor with no penalties...). It definitely is true that they'd be more useful if archery was actually good, though.

Really, an assassin can wear any armor, including complete plate mail, and any weapon, including those huge 2H axes. No penalties.
Once you reach Brimloch Roon, you will find a special assassin robe. Only an assassin can wear it.

The red assassin's stuff you can buy from the store there (I'm wandering around in the ocean, going to go to Skull Isle so I can get that vampire ring for my vampire...)? Just like the mage robes, it looks cool, but is useless due to how much better armor is (well, at least for the warlock who has the dragon armor...)... the only way to make up for that, as far as I can tell, is that skill from the bushi dojo (that gives +4 armor to robes), but only my cleric has it...

Anyway, it seems pretty strange that assassins can wear any armor without penalty. How does one sneak in full plate?

Every so often, you have to suspend rational belief when gaming...

Although I think *that* is something the developers may have addressed if they had had more time...
