Ironworks Forum Eye of the Beholder Tileset I am working on.... (For upcoming Patch)

Besides new Weapon 3D Models, and placeables and Armor, I am making a few tileset pieces. (Tilesets are what I build the Dungeon levels with--each tileset has a 'look'. Like Sewers, Caverns, Indoor Home, Outdoor City)...

Anyway, some of you may remember the old RPG Game Eye of the Beholder. It was released in like 1991 or so, and was my favorite game. Still play it sometimes . That is where I actually got the Teleporter Idea from too (And the glowing Rock items).

Anyway, I've been working on these new tileset pieces, here are a few sneak peeks:

I plan on making the Sewer levels, the Drow levels and Spider/Dwarven levels in NWN Tilesets. (If you LOVED EOB like I did, you know exactly what I'm talking about)
Here is a preview of the sewers: (They may look kinda cartoonish because of the lighting I bumped up for the render)

The first one has water in it--which is going to be transparent mostly the second not.

More info on this coming soon! Check here on the EFU Forums and the EFU Webpage occasionally for updates too!

Look excellent, but I am worried about that 'mostly' - do things lurk in the non-transparent water?

With you on EoB 1. One of the great games.

Hate to say it but one of its only drawbacks was the lighting. Very atmospheric but so dim it was hard in places to focus (not sure whether that was down to the game, my eyes or the monitor I had at the time).

Look forward to seeing (I hope) how these new tilesets work with a flat screen.

Don't worry, they'll be bright enough--and when they're not, you probably have armor or something that emits light, so all is good.

The Drow level walls were dark--Spooky as hell. The purple with the golden looking spider designs on the doors!

Thumbs Up Re: Eye of the Beholder Tileset I am working on.... (For upcoming Patch)

Don't worry about the look of the tiles in broad daylight. Even with the shading presented, I like them. It will be interesting to see if any of those passages are flooded like the Sea Caves are. If so, you have to wonder exactly what WOULD live in that kind of environment naturally...

I am going to assume that certain factions will be showing up within these newly tiled areas? Since we do have at least one group beholden to a beholder, would it not make sense for them to start making appearances in these brand new, grime-encrusted regions? After all, I need new bodies to eviscerate in the name of Iyachtu Xvim...
