Hello Everyone! I just got parolled from the copy room for a while...yippee! Ordinarily I'd have the students who work for us do all this copying in small batches and have done so for many years, but my new supervisor who is too young, new and uninformed about how things work around here, has, in her supervisorly wisdom, decided that the 60+ files must be done by me and only me, beause she doesn't want the kids to mess them up....okie dokie...I'm the highest paid xerox clerk around, but hey, I don't mind- beats answering phones and dealing with registration headaches (it's time for students to pre-register for next semester and our lovely new computer system is full of bugs and glitches!)
Err, hello again... sorry, I am so tired of copying these darned files! I've spent several mornings in there (the copier is SLOW and eats things... ) LOL I need some tea, a little diversion and then I've got to get back to my database and spreadsheet. Hope you're all enjoying the morning/afternoon/evening!

It's ok, Cloudy, xerox machines that breakdown at least twice a month are a must have at any school environment. I don't think there was a single year in my highschool life that the school copiers operated properly. Then there were the constant paper shortages due to the crappy funding system we have down here. Then there's the fact that it only takes about a month to get an AC replaced in the portable classrooms (called annexes in some places), but if the floor or stairs leading to them is rotting through dangerously you've got to wait at least a year. The Florida school system bites. The grading system is just as bad. I'm easily smarter than some of the people who graduated, but because grades are so heavily based on homework of all things, I didn't pass. My fault really, but I should have gotten at least a "D". There wasn't a single test I didn't get an "A" on but not doing homework literally kills the grades.

Hold on a second, one can go "off topic" in the Cafe? I didn't know that was possible. I mean this is a cafe for essentially random discussion with no defined topic aside from that which one chooses to post, right? No worries Cloud ff7. You got a detention for talking in class? or was it mouthing off at the teacher? Down here you only get yelled at repeatedly for talking in class, mostly cuz the teachers don't like the paperwork for giving detentions and writing referals. Lazy bums, no wonder the discipline system is shot down here.

Yeah, tell me about it. Here where I live the temperatures go like this: dawn, 6:00 - 0 degrees Celsius; noon, 12:00 - 22 deg; evening, 18:00 - 10 deg; midnight, 0:00 - 2 deg. I have to walk around with layers upon layers of light clothing so I can adapt to the weather.
