Not exactly horrible...but I felt that the get-together of the two teams was quite a bit forced from a dm point of view, close to railroading us together actually.

Afraid so, but it was pretty much necessary. When Caleb basically stopped posting it would be Lorath wandering around on his own and talking to NPC's unless I combined the parties.

For the record, I was perfectly fine walking around talking to myself and my crazy gibbering sword. Then again, I also would've thought it was funny if we kept switching locations, since I was going back to the portal next, especially if we had the Benny Hill music playing.

Yeah, but it's a bit boring for me to just lead around a single PC with a bunch of NPC's, not much point to the game if there's only one PC in any particular branch of the story.

Oh, no worries, I don't think you'll be slowing everything down.

The terrible strain of having to pick a course of action without an NPC handily telling everyone where to go next seems too much for everyone.
