I'm talking about the folder/location that stores a list of all the the programs that load up into Windows when you boot the computer up - things like Norton Antivirus, RealPlayer, etc. It's taking my computer over a minute to boot up, which is slower than it used to be. I have a feeling that I've got a lot of TSR programs loading up into memory on startup.

In DOS you used to be able to access and edit the autoexec.bat file...anyone know where to look for this in Windows?

Or you can use an register editor to see what applications are started from there. Try RegCleaner. It sohws a complete start-up list. You can find it here.

Note: Do not use Microsoft RegClean!

In windows 2000 it's under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

It should be the same under XP or very similar, just follow the same logic.
You can just use regedit.
