It took me f a while to win the first battle when you enter the Beholder Lair, lots of reloads and different strategies, none of which worked all that great. I finally beat the two Beholders, got the piece of the Equalizer and Eye Stalk or something like that. Is it worth it to finish this lair ? First off it id tough and Beholders seem to just kick my butt (and Minsc's for that mater). Secondly I want to get back to the surface already, need to visit castle, get more +1 and +2 arrows - it has been so long since I was at a good shop that I am using regular arrows, and I have all this cash to buy some of the bonus CD items. So should I do the rest of the lair or just complete the Matrons quest and forget exploring the Beholders lair ?

Input appreciated !

Hmmm...well, if you're still looking to gain lots of XPs and level up some more, then I'd say you should finish the lair. However, if you're looking for insight as regards loot in the lair...IIRC there was not any special tresure in the lair other than...

It's well worth finishing ALL 3 lairs.......The prince kuoToa lair is by far the most rewarding however...................

If you have already accepted Matron Mother's quest, I suggest you to do one specific area, get the item, and finish that quest before the time limit runs out. You can always finish those remaining areas later.

and the princes lair was the easiest to complete but worth the trip.
all of the lairs are worth the XP you get though some seem tougher than others. ya just gotta be careful with the beholders and illithids.

Ya, you better hurry to do the three lairs if you accepted the matron mother's quest. I did all three, and when I sleped before returning to the city, Phaere appear and attacked me. So I reloaded and hasted myself to the city.

What is the time limit ?

It took me forever to win the battles in the Mind flayers lair and the Beholder lair !! I had to sleep twice to resurect team members. Do I have to go back and start over because of the time limit ? On the walk through it sounded like once I complete the Matron's quest and do the old switch with the eggs that I would have to escape pretty quick before the Drow would turn on me. So it seemed like you have to finish the other areas before completing the main quest. Help ???

Where in the beholder lair is the greenstone Amulet ?
