about an hour or so ago, I went to make a post somewhere in the forum, not sure exactly now, but there was this huge grey face popped up, did not even think much about it, but when I went to close down the browser, more opened, we are not talking a few either, it just kept happening, I finaly had to pull the plug on the computer, because nothing I did worked, normally I would not be to worried about it, but then the face, and it was only your website that kept opening up, not sure what to make of it, if it is something wrong on my end or not, just thought you should know

no seriously, I thought it was a hang up, but it looked like the grey smilie, but was huge, I am not nuts, my husband saw what took place afterwards, he is the one who pulled the plug

edit} I remember now where I was, it was when I posted in the undermountain forum that it happened
and I would like to be taken seriously once in awhile, have enough people telling me I am nuts

I'll take you seriously on this one...

I've had something like that happen periodically when I post. What has happened to me is that the four or so rows of smilies at the top of the posting page show up about ten times their normal size.

Typically, it only lasts until the page finishes loading, at which point they revert to their normal size.

It has never presented a problem to me in my normal forum behavior... and I have never determined a reason why it happens.

Stormy are you using Yahoo as your main server? If so don't worry it's a small bug they have do to the POP up killer they use. If you don't want to see the gray smiley face when posting on a forum just press and hold the Ctrl button on your keyboard just as you click on add reply. The same problem actualy was a question that was answered on TECHTV A few weeks ago. since I'm not a Yahoo user I've never had the problem but it caught my eye when the question came up on the show and now you have seen the ghost of smiley past. It turns out it's caused by spy ware that gets on you computer and reacts with the Pop up killer Yahoo uses
NO Stormy your not nuts, well maybe just a little. LOL

never said I wasn't nuts and yeah,we use both yahoo and msn, but that still does not explain why all of a sudden IW kept re-opening on me :/ perhaps it is the bug causing, I know that the pop up killer, curtosy of my husband has been causing some trouble, but never had that happen before, so it is probably just that.....
Never mind then, carry on
