Give it a try bro...then let us know how far you get. I don't see why not...you still get mage spells as a Skald don't you?
Good luck! Glycerine |

The only thing remotely good about a bard is their songs and they cant do anything else while doing it so screw soloing them.In fact screw bards period.

Hehe, a couple of months ago (Jan) a guy called BraveSirRobin solod with a jester which is even harder than with a Skald and wrote a diary about his progress which he posted on BGD. It's very doable, just as it is with a any class.

You and I are heading for a fight!!! I love bards, they are just the greatest class going. Stuff powergaming, I like to have a good character to roleplay and you can't get better than a bard. Tom, here are some tips: Install the exp cap remover if you haven't already - you will level up so fast you will think you are in an express elevator. Magic missile is a good spell for bards as it can usually be cast in combat without interruption. Tensers Transformation is a good lvl 6 spell for bards when you reach a high enough level - turns you into a great combat machine. Otherwise use defensive spells like stoneskin and other protection spells. Get a familiar for the extra hit points. It is possible to solo a bard, but it won't be easy. But isn't it the challenge that makes it fun? ------------------ Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so. Epona of The Laughing Hyenas and The Ladies Guild. |
