I bought the whole first series on DVD for my bro at Xmas, and after watching all 14 episodes, I must say it's class.

I was skeptical about buying it, as I was a Simpsons and Futurama fan, and I had never really watched this. But honestly, its cool. Stewie is an awesome character, and Peter has his moments too.

Has some very abstract moments, but it does them ok!

Anyone like/dislike?

I love stewie but Brian(the talking martini drinking dog) is even better. He's the most sane of any of the characters.

Brian is pretty cool, but he's defo no patch on Stewie or Peter.

Is the second series as good as the first?

My favourite line is in the episode "A Hero Next Door", when the disable Joe moves in. Peter sees him in a wheelchair turning up to play baseball for him and says "Holy crip he's a crapple!"

Lol, some of the things that are mentioned are borderline on whether people would take offence! Like the comment above!

I really liked the show, even though some of the jokes are a bit hard to get if you're not an American. I actually made a soundset once for Baldurs Gate 2 with Stewie's voice, btw.
Anyways, I heard some rumours about the show being cancelled last year... Anyone able to confirm this sad news?

As far as I'm aware, its not been cancelled. I could be wrong, but I think its done well really. So I can't see the makers cancelling it!

I dunno!

Just went to Fox.com, and there is no sign of Family Guy on the shows list.

I think your hunch about it being cancelled is true!

I LOVE this show! The best bathroom-humor joke ever came out of an episode.

(while looking at a Twinkie) "I'm gonna' turn you into poo."

Family Guy is a quality show. I remember this one episdoe where they flash to Death going into a frat house. He goes in, drinks a bottle of beer (opening it on his face ), and ends up being drunk. He then gets in his car to drive a way and says, "Okay Death, you can do this," and then gets in an accident right away. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen!

That must be series 2, as it's not on series 1.

There is a funny episode where Death breaks his ankle, and Peter has to take over and kill the cast of Dawsons Creek!

I have ALL of the episodes on my computer. It was a great show. I can see how the humor might be to American. Glad to see some turn-about after trying to decipher the humor on BBC America. You will notice I said "was". With no explanation Family Guy was no longer on the air.
