When you start talking about "The Americans" and "The Russians" and "The Germans" you've already just thrown millions upon millions of people with vastly differing opinions and philosophies into one great big cooking pot. It is fact that a lot of the "Regular" Army German forces were actually noble and honorable soldiers (Rommel is one of the most well known) who repeatedly ignored orders from Hitler and the SS to commit atrocities. Not all Russian troops were evil and not all German soldiers were Evil, some were not even Nazi's.

Uss I have studied the War in a fair amount of detail and while there are some things to admire about the German war machine of World War 2 there is NO redeaming value in the nazi political party.

Uss, neither you or your brother are READING HISTORY. You are ignorant it seems of the fact that there was a COLD WAR after WWII where Russia was the enemy.

Ever heard of the Vietnam War? The Korean War? The Cuban missile crisis? The Afgahn War which resulted in an Olympic boycatt of the Moscow games?

It seems your brother is so intent on reading WWII history he's forgotten that this is now 2002.

Also, he's ignoring the fact that the problems between the west and Russia started with the Civil War, when the West supported the White army against the Red army.

Hitler did nothing for the Estonians. He would have enslaved and oppressed them like he did his "allies" the Italians.

You have read how Hitler treated his allies and confidantes and advisors? That those close to Hitler would become a percieved threat? That assassins were around every corner.

The Purge? Read about that? The night of the long knives? The fact that Hitler destroyed those who would speak against him?

The dominance of the American economy and the infiltration of the Russian mindset by the American media and arts, and the collapse of the Soviet Union due to disillusionment with it's own corruption and mismanagement .

Based upon idealogies

Communism as it was originally intended, was a system based upon respect for your fellow man and about You taking care of the community and the community taking care of you. Those who do not fit in, will be taken care for. Unfortunatly, under the Bolsewick goverment true communism never got a change

National Socialism as it was intended, was and is a system based upon hate and supression. War was good and those who do not fit in the system get eliminated. This was the system was caried out by Hitler, a man whose prograndic powers I admire, but whoms ideas, and even moreso whoms deeds I dispice.

In essence Nazi equals dead and egoism
And IMHO Nazism equals Evil in it's most purest form

It's very shortsighted to say Nazi is good because they rid you of the russians

Sorry USS, But I recently covered Nazi Germany in school (all two years worth of the topic) and I have come to the conclusion that Nazism and it's ideals is wrong. Who should decide which race is superior to the next, who should have the right to play God and elminate or remove an entire race because they believe in survival of the fittest? No one thats who. Least of all a mad dictator that managed to convince thousands of desperate German people seeking an escape from the hell they were currently in. The Russian's weren't better off either, but al least they made no attempt to play God and to decide which race should survive and whioch should die. Nazism is wrong, believe in dictatorship if you will (which is still wrong IMO)but not the elmination of an innocent country or two in order for yours to advance purely on the grounds that you believe that you are superior.

BTW- Like someone said earlier I had reallife stuff to do. Don't worry, Ironworks is a home away from home for this old spamfilled warrior See you around.
