I was told that after defeating Irenicus in the asylum, that Yoshimo would attack you, and that a quest worth 200,000 would arise out of his death. However, this did not happen for me. Do you need to have Yoshimo in your party before you enter the asylum, because if this is the case I'm screwed because I dumped him early in the game (Nalia with some potions of Master THievery is by far a better character).

You need to have Yoshimo in your party. If he isn't, why would he be in the assylum, he can't teleport himself.

Actually you can only get Yoshi's heart if he dies as part of the story in the Spellhold.
