Hi folks, New Party Request.

Hi folks,

I'm going to start a new game soon and am after new party ideas.

ie, all rolled by me, part rolled & part NPC or just one main protagonist.

Last time I played, I prerolled 5 of my team and took along one NPC at a time in order to do their quests.

It was Paladin, Fighter, Cleric, Mage, Fighter/Thief + 1.
Yes I know, dull sorry, any ideas?.

Twice, I think, the last one with the Add ons. Both times with mainly prerolled.

If you only ever played with one NPC in the party, you will have missed out on all the great dialogue between the different NPCs, as well as the various romance options. Whatever you are going to play, I would suggest taking the full number of NPCs with you, and trying to cycle them as little as possible. Different NPCs have different comments depending on which ones that are in your party. That won't be boring, it'll be fun

Don't play with pre-created NPCs this time. Try the in-game and custom NPCs - they're much more fun, and you'll miss on a decent part of the game playing without them.

My personal recommendation:

You - Ranger/Cleric
Jaheira
Yoshimo
Imoen
Jan
Kelsey / Solaufein

That would give you a strong party, all the NPCs who are important to the plot AND lovely dialogues.

Do you know,I've never played a Ranger/Cleric, would they get extra clerical spells from the Ranger side?.

In a way.

Ranger/Cleric can cast both Clerical and Druidic spells.

I recently tried a party much like the Dundee’s “The Forgotten” party. I wanted to use NPC’s I never use, I called the party of the unloved.

PC –Inquisitor
Aerie
Jan
Haer'Dalis
Cernd
Kelsey

The only one I had used before was Aerie, picked her up in my very first game.

It was a nice idea but unfortunately I couldn’t handle it. It was in the temple district and Aeire started whining … again. Something inside me snapped and I turned and hacked her to bits. (Scored a critical hit, winged elf bits everywhere, very cool.) I immediately took everyone to the sewers, entered the Illithid Lair and sent Kelsey ahead to have his brains sucked out.. Even though I was now technically a fallen Paladin I felt MUCH better.
