When there are sticky posts 'on' in one the 'larger' forums, it makes it slower.. I've done some testing, and when I 'de-top' the posts, it's MUCH faster to load this forum (Gen Con). Smaller forums are ok with stickys.. hmm. odd.

Just want to keep the forum sticky-free until I can look through the code and figure this out. must be a bug..

Thanks Mods,

That's weird??
The first time I hear someone connecting a forum slowdown to the sticky topic feature... But it could very well be true. At least you found out now...

Barb, it may have escaped your attention but Larry and I have discussed the reduction of those sticky's and a time line for doing so.

I'd also point out that Role Play is hardly a huge forum at the moment.

Are you sure that these things arent just to do with ur ISP??
I know that i, for 1, have no trouble loading any of the forums here at ironworks... not even ones ive never been to before.
So this could be to do with certain ISPs slowing down under certain conditions. If my hunch is right, than you may have a hard time figuring out which conditions affect which ISPs... u cant realy have access to every ISP available to u- its just not possible.
I have heard of this happening- Faster ISPs dont slow down as readily, but when they do its because of different things.

Maybe its my imagination, but when the stickys were gone from here, the forum loaded faster.
