Story here. Suggestive cheerleading is next on the hitlist, legislators have voted to ban it in Texas. This would give the authorities power to patrol schools and stop schools from doing it.

Well, I guess you can't blame the elder generation for fighting the march of time. They're just upset that all their daughters are sluts these days. It's their own fault, it's the natural fallout of sexual lib and women's lib.

Me, I'm just sad I was born in a time that was a decade before all the high school chicks wore low-rise jeans, thongs, and had regular Brazilian waxes. I'm jealous more than anything.

Would you let your daughter do these things, TL? If I wanted to see stuff like this, I'd start going to strip clubs again.

Hmm...I always thought cheerleading was something of an American tradition? Is it something that's only taken off in the last ten or twenty years then?

It is an American tradition, the kind of behaviors the law is trying to put an end to are a more recent addition, probably inspired by movies like Bring It On and the like.

This reminds me of the movie Footloose.

But shouldn't the responsibility of keeping the cheerleading "in good taste" or whatever lie with the school boards and parent commissions, rather than with the state?

Guess this will solve all of those problems then!

Ummm.... no. If I am ever lucky enough to have a daughter, she will be kept indoors until age 23, at which point she will enter a nunery. The last thing I want is for her to be exposed to dogs like me. Boys are evil, mkay.

Hell, i wouldn't want my kids to be doing what i'm doing, and if i ever discovered they were i'd beat them to within an inch of their life

Doesn't stop me doing them though. Everyone know human nature is inherently hypocritical.

At what age do girls start cheerleading in the US? Are the cheerleaders 18+ or 15-16+ or younger?

Just interested.
