Stranded - never to see jan again!

I have just reached spellhold and has the dream ect, freed imoen and am in the maze. I did not have yoshimo in my party so I have all 6 slots filled. I now want to take imoen and let jan go home, but when I ask him to leave the only option is for him to wait here! My fear is that if he waits here and the party continue with the quest he will become unavailable because he's trapped back in the maze.

Is this a bug or can I go back and collect him later in the game?

If u leave Jan u can't pick him up later and he won't find his way out so u can get him later... the only option is to leave Imoen... I think she'll get out by her self and u can get her later at coppercornet... not sure but I think it like that

You know i think Imone is better but jan has such low life i think you would be better off with Imone just do not put armor on her use braces or something like that so she can cast spells

I never ran into that problem, but maybe you could try the
opposite way and see where Imoen says that she'll meet you.
Ya might not want to take Jan along, but you may have to. I
don't think you can return to the maze. Sorry, couldn't help
you more.

IDIOT! JAN ROCKS! WHY DID U LEAVE HIM BEHIND!?! AND WITH NO TURNIPS!

Oh, and if u told Imoen to get lost, she gets out of the maze and is in the Copper Corenet. But Jaheira objects to this. U can't get Jan back.
