I wish I had a dog. *sigh* Instead of a lazy, cat that doesn't appreciate you unless you let him outside or give him food!

Who needs a dog? They just crap everywhere this thread reminds me of a nice hungarian saying... when someone says that something nearly happened and in your opinion that's crap because it was nowhere near happening then you say (translated) "yeah right, and even the dog nearly doesn't take a shit"

I've had both cats and dogs before - at one time I had two cats and one dog living with my family of three in a little crackerbox of a house.
Simon was our first cat. He was a black and white that we had raised from a kitten. He was very feisty and outgoing, always coming out to demand attention whenever we had guests over. He died last year at the ripe old age of 18. Modesty was a pure white longhair cat. We took her in as a stray, and we think she must have been mistreated by her former owner because she was painfully shy - you would almost never see her, but if you left the bathroom door open while you were in the tub, she'd come and perch on the side for a visit. She died a couple of years ago at 15. My dog Max was named after an old TV sitcom spy named Maxwell Smart, because when we first tried to paper train him he would "miss it by that much". He was a basset hound/beagle crossbreed, with a beagle body atop short little basset legs, jowls, and floppy ears that were midway between a beagle's and a basset's. He eventually went blind and also contracted cancer, he stunk, and had occasional accidents, but there was nothing like the feeling of seeing something that happy to see me when I'd come home from work! We had to have Max put to sleep today - he had just gotten too sick with no chance of getting any better. I really miss him. Rest in peace, buddy. |

We have...five registered boxers, one of them an AKC (american kennel club) show champion (and she just happens to be mine ).
Besides them, we have another mutt dog that I don't like at all and a siamese cat of mine named Binx that I've had for about 10 years. I love my dog, but she's just so hyper...always in your face. In that respect I like kitties better, especially the long haired ones...so soft

Just one question, does anyone here NOT like their pets??? Whenever anyone talks about their pets, its always "Their so cute", or "Their so smart" Well, I like my Labrador (Ellie) but I have never known many people to dislike their animals, I suppose they would have gotten rid of them....But anyway. I always had at least one cat...and a dog. but funny thing is, I can not have them anymore because I am allergic to both of them now :/ and until I find some medicne that really works without knocking me out, I can not have animals again.
